HOW DID MARLEY GET HERE?
Marley was surrendered to us when her previous owner could no longer care for her. She has faced some medical challenges and is now looking for a forever home where she can continue growing, learning, and gaining confidence as she discovers the world around her!

PERSONALITY:
- Affectionate and very gentle when meeting new people
- Has shown little to no hesitation when meeting new people so far
- Has lived successfully with children and cats in the past
- Somewhat treat motivated and responds well to food lures
- Interested in toys and enjoys exploring and playing
- Eager to learn and wants to please her handler
- A young, playful pup with plenty of curiosity and enthusiasm!
- Can be jumpy and mouthy when excited or overstimulated, and is still learning appropriate ways to manage her puppy energy
- Can be somewhat nervous or unsure in new situations and will benefit from positive experiences that help build her confidence
- May react to sudden noises or unexpected movement, particularly when feeling overwhelmed
- Still learning her basic skills, including sit, down, recall, leash walking, and settling on a mat
- Will need continued positive work with handling, including ears, nails, grooming, and teeth checks
- Inconsistent with her house training and will need continued support and a consistent routine in her new home
- Does well in the car overall, although she may experience some nausea or vomiting and will benefit from additional positive travel experiences

WHAT TYPE OF HOME IS MARLEY LOOKING FOR?
- A family with general dog experience who understands the needs of a young, energetic GSD mix
- A home committed to providing structure, consistency, patience, and plenty of positive learning opportunities
- A home with a securely fenced yard where Marley can safely explore, play, and burn off some of her puppy energy
- A family with children 6+, or slightly younger children if the family is experienced and comfortable with appropriate supervision and management
- A family who will give her time and space to become comfortable in new environments and will avoid overwhelming her with too much too quickly
- Can live with a well-matched dog
- Can live with cats with appropriate supervision and boundaries - she previously lived with cats and no prey drive has been observed; continued management would be recommended as she matures
- A family who understands that Marley is still a puppy and is looking for someone who will help her grow into a confident, well-mannered adult companion

Marley has a diagnosed kidney condition that requires a renal diet for life. She is currently doing well on her renal diet and has been gaining weight. Her condition is expected to be permanent and may affect her overall lifespan, so her adopters should be prepared for ongoing veterinary monitoring and specialized nutrition throughout her life. She is currently eating Royal Canin Renal food and any dietary changes should be discussed with a veterinarian. A starter supply of her food will be provided at no added cost upon adoption.
