HOW DID BAILEY GET HERE?
Bailey came into our care through another organization. While we don't know much about his life before arriving at the shelter, we do know that he is a bright, capable young dog who has made incredible progress with our training team and is ready to continue that journey with the right family.

PERSONALITY:
* Intelligent and eager to learn, with lots of potential
* Food motivated and enjoys working for treats and rewards
* Responds well to calm praise, gentle guidance, and handler engagement
* Knows several obedience cues, including sit, responding to his name, and going to his bed or mat
* Fairly well housetrained and prefers to do his business outdoors
* Loves exploring the world and enjoys sniffing, though he can become overstimulated if excitement builds too quickly
* Checks in with his handler while on walks and is learning to stay engaged despite distractions
* Can become vocal around unfamiliar people or dogs and will need continued support building confidence
* Young, active, and enthusiastic, with typical bouncy behaviours when excited
* Has made wonderful progress during his time at the shelter and continues to improve every day!

WHAT TYPE OF HOME IS BAILEY LOOKING FOR?
* Guardians with experience handling large dogs and confidence continuing his training
* A detached home with a securely fenced yard and no shared entryways or apartment-style living
* A home where everyone is 16+, although younger children may be considered in experienced families able to safely manage his size and energy
* No cats
* Preferably the only dog in the home, though select dog friendships may be possible with careful, gradual introductions over time
* Patient adopters who understand that Bailey will need time, consistency, and positive exposure to new people, places, and experiences

Bailey is an incredibly rewarding dog who has already come so far during his time with us. Every week he becomes more confident, more engaged with his handlers, and better able to navigate the world around him. He's looking for adopters who will celebrate his progress, continue building on the excellent foundation he's developed, and give him the structure and guidance he needs to thrive. With patience, consistency, and a commitment to his training, Bailey has all the potential to become a loyal, loving, and devoted lifelong companion. Apply to adopt Bailey today!
