HOW DID DOLLY GET HERE?

Dolly was transferred to us from another organization and is now ready to find a patient, understanding forever home where she can continue learning what home life is all about!

PERSONALITY:
- Very sweet, affectionate dog who truly enjoys human attention and companionship
- Highly people-oriented and loves pets, praise, and interaction with her caregivers!
- Food and toy motivated, especially motivated by higher-value treats.
- Enjoys stuffed toys and will happily engage in gentle play!
- Is crate trained and happy to sleep in her own space overnight.
- Tolerant of handling and generally soft in her interactions with people.
- Is new to walking on a leash but has been a great walker while in foster care!
- Has ongoing ear infections with her floppy, cocker spaniel ears and will need regular care and cleaning for them
- Can show anxious or semi-frantic behaviours in new environments and unfamiliar situations
- New to housetraining but has had zero accidents in her foster home!
- Likely has limited or no previous home experience and will need support building confidence.

WHAT TYPE OF HOME IS DOLLY LOOKING FOR?
- A patient, dog-experienced home that understands under-socialized or anxious dogs
- Any type of dwelling but a secure, fenced yard is strongly recommended to allow for safe decompression and confidence building
- Best in a home with structure and routine to help reduce anxiety and build confidence
- May do well with other tolerant, calm dogs following successful introductions
- Could live with cats with slow, structured introductions and supervision
- Children 14+ recommended, or slightly younger in very experienced homes able to manage her needs appropriately
- A home committed to ongoing training and confidence building!
