HOW DID MACY GET HERE?
Macy came into our care as a stray, so her past remains a bit of a mystery. What we do know is that she's a sensitive, intelligent girl who is learning that the world can be a safe and kind place, and she's ready to find a patient forever home to continue that journey.

PERSONALITY:
- A smart, observant girl who is very in tune with her surroundings
- Forms strong bonds with her people and especially seems to feel most comfortable with women
- Affectionate and loving once she feels safe, she truly enjoys attention from her trusted humans
- Food-motivated and eager to learn (treats are definitely the way to her heart!)
- Medium energy - loves zoomies, exploring, and sniffing adventures
- Can be sensitive with handling
- Has some stranger danger, working on this - slow introductions will be key!
- Will engage with toys once she feels comfortable in her environment
- Communicates clearly through her body language and prefers to create space when unsure rather than confront
- May have some foundational housetraining from her previous home

WHAT TYPE OF HOME IS MACY LOOKING FOR?
- An experienced, patient home that understands fearful or sensitive dogs
- An adult-only home
- A calm, low-pressure environment where she can build confidence at her own pace
- A house (no apartments or condos) with a private entrance to avoid overwhelming or close encounters with unfamiliar people
- Access to a secure, enclosed yard would be ideal to allow her to decompress and explore safely
- A home that will respect her boundaries, especially giving her a safe space like a bed or mat where she won't be disturbed
- May do well with a calm, respectful dog companion, but not a high-energy or pushy dog
- Untested with cats but if you have one and apply we would cat-test Macy to ensure she would be a good fit

Macy is still learning to navigate new experiences and can be fearful of unfamiliar people, especially in close or confined spaces. She may try to hide or create distance when overwhelmed, so her future family will need to go slow, allow her to approach on her own terms, and build trust through patience and consistency.
