HOW DID CHERRY GET HERE?
Cherry came to us when her previous owners were no longer able to care for her. She's had a bit of a tough road (including dental work and jaw recovery), but she's ready for a fresh start with the right person by her side.

PERSONALITY:
- Deeply devoted to her people, once you're in her circle, she's incredibly affectionate and loves attention
- Communicates clearly through her body language and appreciates people who respect her space
- Low energy and happiest curled up in a soft, cozy bed
- Food motivated
- Enjoys toys
- Walks nicely on leash and enjoys slow, sniff-filled strolls
- Can be wary of new people, especially if they move quickly or reach over her
- Sensitive to handling and may snap if pushed beyond her comfort level
- Bonus...Cherry is house-trained!

WHAT TYPE OF HOME IS CHERRY LOOKING FOR?
- An experienced, dog-savvy owner who understands boundaries and body language
- Adult-only home
- A calm, predictable environment where she can feel safe and not overwhelmed
- Preferably the only dog, though she may be able to live with a calm, respectful senior dog if managed carefully
- No cats
- A home committed to continuing her training, especially around handling and life skills
- A setup where she doesn't need to be confined (crates/x-pens are very stressful for her)

Cherry has some ongoing medical needs that her future family should be aware of. She will require continued monitoring and follow-up with a veterinarian for her ears (which may be a chronic issue), dental/jaw healing, and overall health (including periodic bloodwork and ultrasounds).

Cherry is also eating a prescription diet called Royal Canin Urinary S/O + Hydrolyzed Protein, to help with urinary health and allergy management. Any dietary changes should be discussed with a veterinarian. A starter supply of her food will be provided at no added cost upon adoption.
