Lost & Found Pets

Lost a Pet?

If your pet has gone missing — or if you’ve found an animal that you think could be a lost pet — we’re here to help. The Humane Society of Oakville, Milton & Halton supports pet owners across Oakville with guidance, resources, and one of the highest return-to-owner rates in Canada.

If your pet is missing in Oakville, let us know as soon as possible. The sooner we have your information, the more we can do to help bring them home.

Call: 905-845-1551 ext. 302
Email: lostandfound@hsomh.ca

A member of our Lost & Found team will follow up to complete a detailed report. We’ll keep your pet’s information on file and contact you if there’s a potential match.

Found a Pet?

If you’ve found an animal that you believe could be a lost pet in Oakville, we’re here to help you safely reunite them with their family.

Call: 905-845-1551
Or bring the pet to: 445 Cornwall Road, Oakville

Bringing the animal into our care helps us scan for a microchip, check against lost reports, and ensures the pet is kept safe.

Other Steps You Can Take:

  • Secure the animal in a quiet, safe space away from pets and children
  • Check for ID: Look for a tag or microchip (we can scan this)
  • Use caution: Injured or frightened animals may act unpredictably
  • Post online, but avoid showing distinguishing features (like a unique collar or scar) and ask claimants for details to confirm ownership

Need a Microchip?

Microchips make it much easier to reunite pets with their families, but only if they’re registered and up to date.
