Municipal Animal Services

Services in Oakville

The Humane Society of Oakville, Milton & Halton is contracted by the Town of Oakville to provide municipal animal services, including animal control, by-law enforcement, and sheltering. Our officers are available 24/7 to assist with animal-related concerns.

We help support the community through:

Animal control and public safety response
Enforcement of local animal-related by-laws
Pickup and care of stray, sick, or injured domestic animals and wildlife
Capture of stray dogs and confined stray cats
Coordination with local law enforcement when needed
Pick-up of deceased animals on town property and regional roads

Hours of Operation

Officer Hours: 7:00am – 9:00pm

Emergency Hours: 9:00pm – 7:00 am

After Hours Support

Our on-call officers are available 24/7 for urgent situations, such as:

Injured or sick domestic animals or wildlife
Animals believed to be orphaned
Situations where an animal poses a risk to public safety
Support for police, fire, or other emergency services

Call 905-845-1551 and follow the voice prompts to speak with an officer or report an urgent concern.

Bylaw Enforcement

We provide animal control bylaw enforcement through our agreement with the Town of Oakville. This includes:

Leash and dog licensing requirements
Standards of care for animals
Investigations of biting dogs and other bylaw concerns
Reporting Oakville bylaw violations
