Educational Programs for Ages 3–18

The Humane Society of Oakville, Milton & Halton offers fun, interactive educational programs for children aged 3 to 18.

Our programs are designed to complement the Ontario curriculum, with a special focus on fostering compassion and respect for all living creatures.

Each session includes a brief introduction to HSOMH, a lesson of your choice, and a chance to meet one of our child-friendly animal ambassadors.

Animal Ambassadors

Usually, an animal ambassador will join your visit. These animals are not adoptable shelter pets but are specially chosen animals that are friendly and comfortable around children.

One of the following animals may attend your school/community visit:

  • Rabbit
  • Guinea Pig
  • Hamster
  • Dog

If you prefer a visit without an animal, please let us know in advance. We also ask that you check with your class and parents beforehand for any allergies or phobias.
