Humane Society Summer Camps

This summer, the Humane Society is offering two exciting camp experiences for young animal lovers!

We’re hosting two specialty camp weeks at our shelter, and we’re also partnering with the Town of Oakville to offer eight additional weeks of camp at town locations.

Whether your child dreams of becoming a veterinarian or simply loves animals, there’s a camp for them!

On-Site Humane Society Camps

Vets in Progress (VIP) Summer Camp

August 10-14
Ages 6–12

During our Vets in Progress (VIP) summer camp, campers will explore the world of animal health through hands-on activities, interactive lessons, and special guest visits. This engaging week blends science, compassion, and creativity — perfect for young animal lovers who want to make a difference in the lives of pets.

Animal Careers Summer Camp

August 17-21
Ages 6–12
Location: Humane Society of Oakville, Milton & Halton, 445 Cornwall Road, Oakville

Does your child love animals and wonder what it would be like to work with them one day?

During our Animal Careers summer camp, campers will discover exciting paths that turn a passion for animals into a future career.

Through hands-on activities, guest visits, and interactive lessons, campers will learn what each career involves and the skills needed to succeed. From caring for pets to protecting wildlife, this inspiring week helps young animal lovers imagine how they can make a difference — now and in the future.

Camps in Partnership with the Town of Oakville

Camps in partnership with the Town of Oakville are offered at either Sixteen Mile Sports Complex or Trafalgar Park Community Centre.

We’re excited to offer eight weeks of summer camp in partnership with the Town of Oakville for children ages 6–12.

  • Tuesday, February 17 at 7:00 AM – Camps will be viewable online

  • Tuesday, February 24 at 7:00 AM – Registration opens

On-Site Camp Details

Hours

  • Camp Time: 9:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.
  • Drop-Off: 8:30 a.m. – 9:00 a.m.
  • Pick-Up: 3:30 p.m. – 4:00 p.m.

 

Please note: We do not offer before- or after-care outside of these times.

Location

The camp is held at the Humane Society of Oakville, Milton & Halton. The address is 445 Cornwall Road in Oakville.

Cost

The fee for the camp is $385 for one week. Pizza lunch on Friday is included in this cost.

Age & Group Size

Campers must be between 6-12 years old. There is no flexibility on our age policy. Each week will have 12 campers.

Waiting List

This program is filled on a first-come, first-served basis. However, if the camp is full, we can place you on a waiting list for a cancellation. To be added to the waitlist, please email education@omhs.ca with your name, phone number, and your child’s name and age.

Animal Interaction

Campers will not be volunteering with the animals, but will have many opportunities to spend time with a variety of child-friendly animals that have been carefully selected to come to camp.
