It’s #NationalVolunteerWeek, a celebration of the commitment, dedication, generosity and selflessness of Canada’s almost 13 million volunteers. All week on our social media channels we will be sending shout-outs to our #volunteers in recognition of the many ways they make life better for our animals.
By dedicating their time, love, and talents, our volunteers make a huge impact on the lives of the abandoned, neglected, and abused animals that enter our shelter every day. Whether they’re taking our shelter dogs for regular walks all through the day, bottle-feeding a newborn kitten, socializing a rescued animal (or one of about 30 other jobs), our team of nearly 450 volunteers enables us to provide the very best of care for our animals and help us provide support to the people and animals in our community. Since we rely 100% on donations to help our animals, we simply could not do the work we do without our volunteers. Thank you!!
To show your appreciation for our volunteers, we encourage all our followers to get creative and make a handprint or pawprint to display on windows with a thank you message. You can also get your children involved by writing a message in chalk on your driveway to let our volunteers know they are in your thoughts during these difficult times.
